Program Details

The Aboriginal Affairs NSW NAIDOC Grant Program supports the hosting of activities and events during NAIDOC Week that celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and achievements, and align with the 2026 NAIDOC Week theme of Fifty Years of Deadly.

All eligible applications will be assessed on their comparative merits against nominated criteria. Applications with the highest scores are more likely to be funded.

Eligibility Confirmation

To be eligible to apply for an Aboriginal Affairs NSW 2026 NAIDOC Grant applicants must meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the program guidelines.

NAIDOC Grants Applicant Eligibility Definitions

To confirm your eligibility, please tick the box relevant to your organisation or business
Are you an unincorporated Aboriginal group applying with an eligible Auspice? * Required
Unincorporated Aboriginal Groups must have an eligible organisation as an Auspice
 

Please note: AANSW NAIDOC eligibility has changed.

Applicants not eligible to apply for funding are:

  • An Individual or sole trader
  • Federal or State Government departments, agencies and bodies, including Public schools and hospitals
  • Private schools and education institutions
  • NSW Local Councils
  • For-profit organisations including Aboriginal businesses and Aboriginal sole traders
  • Unincorporated Aboriginal organisations or groups who do not have an eligible auspice partnership
  • An applicant or auspice with outstanding obligations relating to previous funding received from AANSW
  • An organisation with redress sanctions in place, as described in the National Redress Scheme

Please declare this application meets the 2026 NAIDOC Grants Program Guidelines eligibility criteria to apply for 2026 NAIDOC funding
  • This application is being prepared and submitted by an eligible applicant.
  • Project will begin on or after 1 July 2026 and be completed by 31 October 2026. 
  • The applicant will notify AANSW if grant funding is secured from another source.
